During the severe storms Eunice, Dudley and Franklin in February 2022, this video of a test drive to experienced RIB drivers in the Rafnar 1100 was shot.
Its a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) for professional, harbour, emergency, military and other services related to providing safety at sea.
With strong gusts up to 140 km/h, a Code Red weather alarm was applied for the coastal regions in The Netherlands, and so IJmuiden.
Waves up to about 4 meters high rolled into the IJmuiden harbour from the North Sea. Powered by 3 Mercury outboards of 350 HP each, the Rafnar 1100 was fiercely put to the test.
