What are cookies?

Cookies are small, simple text files that are stored on the hard drive of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you use this website. They are used to make our websites function better and to monitor web visits, so that Medianaut can, for example, check how many people have visited our websites in a certain period. Web beacons are small graphics that make it possible to count the number of visitors to a particular website and provide access to certain cookies.

Functional cookies

Some cookies are necessary to use a website. Think of navigating between different parts of a website after you have logged in or saving the contents of your shopping cart in the webshop. You cannot use a website without these cookies.

Analysis cookies

Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google. Via these cookies, Medianaut gains insight into the visit to the websites. Think of visitor numbers and popular pages. In this way, Medianaut can improve the content of its websites, better tailor its websites to the needs of website visitors and increase the ease of use of its websites. We also use Google Analytics in combination with display ads and to analyze our campaigns.

The features we have implemented for Google Analytics are: reporting for Google Analytics demographics and interests, remarketing with Google Analytics, reporting for Google Display Network impressions, integrated services for advertising purposes for which Google Analytics collects data, including data that are collected through advertising cookies and IDs.

Remarketing means that third-party vendors, including Google, display our ads on third-party websites. In addition, we and other parties, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) combined to deliver targeted and optimized ads based on a person’s previous visits to our website. We post segment pixels to retarget through Facebook.

The data collected by Google Analytics is anonymous and does not allow to identify individuals. More information about the Google Analytics cookies can be found here.

Additional information about the TOS (Terms Of Service) of Google Analytics can be found here.

Social media cookies

On www.ribsonly.com we use the “AddToAny” plugin. With that plugin you can easily share content and pages via your own Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or other social media account. Social media cookies make this possible. More information about the data they obtain with this can be found on the websites of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or the social media platform that you use to share the content and in the privacy statement of AddToAny.

Manage or delete cookies

There are 2 types of cookies: temporary and permanent. Medianaut uses both. Cookies from the first group are deleted when you close the browser. The permanent cookies can remain for longer, but can be removed manually.

If you do not want websites to place cookies on your computer, tablet or smartphone, you can adjust your browser settings so that you receive a warning before cookies are placed. You can also adjust the browser settings in such a way that the browser refuses all cookies or only the cookies from third parties. You can also delete cookies that have already been placed. In addition, most browsers offer a “Do Not Track” option. Please note that you have to adjust the settings separately for each browser and on each device you use.

How you can adjust the settings and delete cookies differs per browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Edge). Consult the help function of your browser if necessary.

And last but not least

Due to the way the internet and websites work, Medianaut may not always have insight into the cookies that are placed by third parties via our websites. This is especially the case if our web pages contain so-called embedded elements. These are contents such as videos that are stored with another party, but that are shown on, in or via our websites.

If you encounter cookies on our websites that we have not mentioned above, please let us know by e-mail. Or contact the third party directly and ask which cookies they have placed, what the reason is and how they have guaranteed privacy.

We will have to adjust this page from time to time because, for example, the rules regarding cookies change. Therefore, regularly consult this page for the latest version.
