Two New Highfield Escape Models

Highfield Boats introduces a new fiberglass lineup, further expanding its product range into the fiberglass market.

Following the success of the ADV7, two new Escape fiberglass RIB models are launched.

These boats are closely related to the Sport models, yet they are completely newly developed.

The Escape 650

This boat offers luxurious finishes, smart storage solutions, and a comfortable, dry ride.

Removable EVA decking, premium Spradling upholstery, and a larger console improve usability and onboard comfort.

The 750 Stands Out

This vessel has increased space, an optional windlass, and more powerful engine options.

Both models in the Highfield Escape series share a deep-V hull and large tubes.

They deliver an impressively dry and stable ride, according to the tester.

They combine sportiness, comfort, and choice within Highfield’s growing fiberglass family.

ADV9 – Highfield’s First Cabin Boat Ever

The Brand New ADV9

Highfield launches its first cabin boat, a compact innovative RIB offering comfortable sleeping space for two and redefining adventure boating.

This ADV9 is a cross-over between a RIB and a fiber glass boat.

New ADV9 has its exterior and interior design done by VOM Creations Yacht Design. Engineering was in the hands of by Alpha Creations & Naval Justin.

Highfield ADV7 Tested by Motor Boat & Yachting

What is the ADV7?

Alex Smith from Motor Boat & Yachting calls it a hybrid. I prefer “cross-over” (see my article).

“Hybrid” usually refers to engines that combine combustion and electric power.

“Cross-over” better describes a boat sitting between different models, like cross-over cars.

Redefining Adventure Boats

Highfield, long known for aluminium RIBs, has launched its first fiberglass hybrid adventure boat, the ADV7.

Its slim, raised tubes act as stabilizers and fenders while providing a wider internal beam than most 7-meter RIBs.

The plumb bow ensures smooth entry, splash control, and confident handling. A single outboard powers the boat, with options up to 300 horsepower.

Beneath the deck, water and fuel tanks are easily accessible. The cockpit features a wet bar, fridge, fold-away table, and seating that converts into a sun pad.

Forward, a second seating area also forms a sun bed, with generous storage throughout.

The ADV7 reached 38 knots with the Honda 250.

1. A Quieter November on the Water

After another great race season supporting powerboats, November sees a quieter approach to race support.

It is more relaxed, focusing on Cornish Pilot Gigs.

Bude Gig Club is organizing a 3rd winter series.

It made sense to invite the Highfield Patrol 600 again. It performed well in the first 2 years.

2. Clubs Gather for the Winter League

Clubs from as far away as Derby attended the first of this year’s winter league.

They joined 11 other clubs at Roadford Reservoir. It turned out to be the only dry day of the week!

They started early. This ensured a simple setup as they were on site when the sun rose.

This gave some great images and views across the lake. It promised a good day ahead.

OCRDA Race Primary Rescue Team

What a weekend afloat that turned out to be!

We headed off to Torquay for the final round of the OCRDA powerboat racing with a very sketchy forecast and three fleets of jet bikes, pro cats and OCR boat (website).

The Plan: A Media Boat Becomes a Rescue Unit

The Highfield Patrol 600 (see specs below) was originally planned to be a media boat with two for the country’s finest aquatic photographers on board, Anthony from Iceman Images and Will from Snap.

Soon, however with the conditions it was apparent that the Patrol 600 would be use das primary rescue boat with the paramedic aboard and they picture boys shipped off to another willing host!

The rear locker was soon filled with emergency medical equipment alongside the spare clothing and emergency kit and a long board stowed alongside the console.

It was held in place buy a couple of fenders.

Fully Equipped for Safety

The rear locker also has a shower unit within which takes up quite a bit of the space.

It may well be removed for next season as the locker is carrying more and more equipment at events.

Wind, Waves, and Jet Skis

The forecast wasn’t wrong and the promised F 4-5 wind arrived just in time to start the jet ski races, at least it stayed dry!
