Scorpion RIB Brand is Saved

The UK brand was celebrated worldwide for their high-performance hulls and exceptional craftsmanship, Scorpion RIBs captured boating enthusiasts’ admiration.

This brand was renowned for its engineering excellence. It was admired for its pioneering spirit, outstanding performance, and record-setting achievements.

In early 2024, British based Scorpion RIBs entered administration. This was caused by escalating costs linked to the war in Ukraine and higher interest rates.

The brand was subsequently revived by Twisted Marine, which acquired its assets and intellectual property.

The brand now operates under the name Twisted Scorpion RIBs, and production of high-performance RIBs has already resumed.

The new owners are focused on safeguarding the distinguished legacy of the famous Scorpion RIBs and that’s a very smart move.

The company is the exclusively appointed European Distributor for Scorpion RIBs and Protector Boats (Rayglass).

Ian (Andy) Andrews is the Brand Manager for PB Europe and Ancasta for Protector Boats and Scorpion RIBs.

In this post I’ll focus on the Protector RIBs.

Protector RIBs have a track record of proven operational excellence in extremely challenging waters worldwide, this watercraft serves as a robust platform for a range of commercial applications.

Encounter them in action at prestigious events like the America’s Cup and Sail GP races, where they serve as indispensable support vessels.

I’ve posted articles and videos of the British built Scorpion RIBs as well as of the Rayglass brand that build Protector RIBs in New Zealand.

Private Investment to Strengthen Brand

Earlier this month the following news came to my attention.

Private investment is capital contributed by individuals or non-governmental entities into businesses, assets, or projects for financial returns or ownership.

UK based Scorpion RIBs has successfully obtained private investment to expand its line of British-manufactured recreational boats, thereby enhancing the brand’s presence in both the United Kingdom and European markets.

Scorpion Stealth RIB Always Great Performance

Scorpion Stealth RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat)

The Scorpion Stealth RIB is built on the same hull as the Strike model, with superb performance.

It’s an older video (2012) but it says a lot of the famous British brand. The model is no longer available though. The current Serket model is most similar, in my opinion.

This video shows the awesome features of the RIB – a particularly spacious design with a wide back bench seat, plenty of storage space in a walk-in locker, and an incredibly comfortable sun bed platform – perfect for an unforgettable experience at sea!

In contrast to the Strike model this Scorpion Stealth is quite different due to its softer setup and a full-length bow tube.

This model has a useful storage section on the front deck plus you can turn it into a sun bed for an added relaxation spot.

The RIB has two jockey seats fitted as a standard, making it okay for a comfortable ride.

I can imagine you would like to see more videos of this brand. Go for it!
