RIB School Scheveningen newest addition - Tornado 8.5 @ RIBs ONLY - Home of the Rigid Inflatable Boat
The newest addition

A brand new Tornado 8.5 m RIB with 300 hp joins the already impressive fleet of the RIB School Scheveningen (The Netherlands). It’s their 5th addition.

25 years ago, the Hague Rescue Brigade hired both founders as lifeguards. They learned a lot about the immense power of the sea during those years and this has inspired their respect for it.

With this crucial knowledge in mind, safety and excellent equipment have the highest priority at their RIB School. And that’s how we like to see it!

Highfield TV – Ep.16 – Coding the Patrol 660 RIB

In this episode you’ll get an idea of the MCA 3R Coding process on a Patrol 660 RIB. MCA stands for Maritime Coastguard Agency.

Why coding your RIB in the UK?

  • To operate a boat for skippered or bareboat use usually for commercial gain.
  • To take people afloat who pay more than a reasonable contribution towards the trip.
  • To operate a workboat.

Proud to share that Highfield is a good Friend of RIBs ONLY.

The Puma Racing Team Invites You!

Puma Racing Team - Belgium @ RIBs ONLY - Home of the Rigid Inflatable Boat
Puma Racing Team – Belgium

Our Belgian Puma Racing Team invites you on Saturday, May 28th from 15:00 to their team day. It will be a fantastic day, knowing team owner en manager Xavier Derille.

The ambitious team races internationally and has won the European Championship in 2021, a super achievement. It is there that skills evolve and the powerboats and engines are put to the test.

Real offshore racing is a feast for the eyes and ears, I must admit.

International racing places high demands on the drivers, the hardware and the management. You need a fair amount of money as well. And it must be said, the pilots can rely on great sponsors and a powerful fan base.

Above all, it requires many hours of training, a high degree of technical skills and sacrifices. Few people are aware of this. Xavier and co-pilot Jeroen Haverbeke have that indispensable determination.

No doubt this team day will be awesome and their impressive RIB is on display as well. RIBs ONLY will be there as well.

The location is: Kouter 250, 9800 Deinze, Belgium. Need more info or interested in sponsoring, contact Xavier .

Let’s meet!

Puma Racing Team – Near Crash

Near Crash

I got the chance to interview the Team Owner en Manager of the Puma Racing Team, Xavier Derille about the race in Benalmadena Spain. This race was under the auspices of the UIM. That says that this is the real stuff.

What happened with the Puma Racing Team at the start of heat 2

As you have seen, the weather conditions were not the best. At the start of heat 2 we had a very good start. We had a bit too much nose-lift during training and decided to provide 25 kg all the way in the front of the nose.

In order to offer us the indispensable view during the take-off procedure, we also had the flaps set.

During the race we both noticed an approaching wave just too late (00:21) and in a split second we were almost perpendicular to the water. The flaps hit the next wave and the bow flipped down.
