Vanclaes Trailers News: Independent Wheel Suspension

Vanclaes trailers has been around for over 10 years and has become one of the leading manufacturer of (boat) trailers.

The company continues to innovate constantly and is presenting a first at Boot Düsseldorf 2023: an independent wheel suspension. They’re the only one in the Netherlands using this system on boat trailers.

In this informative and insightful video, Sybren Kramer goes over Vanclaes’ latest exciting implementation. It is in Dutch but you can use the auto-translater at the lower right in the video screen.

This new system also reduces weight as it no longer requires the traditional axles.

With their impressive loading capacity and robust construction, they prove capable of tackling the task effortlessly.

Finally, this slideshow features the stainless steel Vanclaes trailers, hard at work hauling heavy Rigid Inflatable Boats like amongst others Gemini RIBs.

Highfield’s Swedish New Distributor Ironbrothers

The newly appointed Swedish new distributor Ironbrothers had a very successful Båtmässan Gothenburg Boat Show from 4 to 12 February 2023.

Lars Peterson, Ironbrothers’ CEO, reports: “What a busy show, good sales and plenty of new leads. It’s great to be representing Highfield Boats!”

HIghfields are made from aluminum.

Aluminum recycling enables scrap metal to be put back into circulation and used in new products, rather than being thrown away after its initial production.

This process of reusing aluminium is beneficial for both the environment and the economy.

Recycling scrap aluminium requires only 5% of the energy used to make new aluminium.

Aluminium is unique in its capacity for infinite recycling without experiencing any decline in quality, making it one of the few materials with this incredible capability.

Proud to share that Highfield is a good Friend of RIBs ONLY.

Although these kind of outboards are becoming somewhat more popular, at this moment, they are not the better choice for a number of reasons.

Here are a few reasons why high-power electric outboard engines are not a good choice at this moment:

Hydrogen versus electricity

Introduction

The last years electric engines on RIBs and other boats are slowly emerging but what with the hydrogen as fuel? I did some research on the subject and incorporated it into this high-level article.

Hydrogen and electricity have a long history as energy sources, but both have also been gaining increased attention in recent years. Both are seen as potential alternatives to fossil fuels, but their relative advantages and disadvantages need to be considered.
