This video is about a full custom 7.4 m Inboard super yacht tender by Ribeye Boats.
This utility tender was built to be the workhorse of the fleet, with performance, function and durability as its key attributes. Ribeye made sure that it also complemented the stylish and contemporary look of its ‘mothership’, adding to its appeal.
The Ribeye Inboard Tenders offer a bunch of propulsion systems and are available in length from 5-10 meters.
The Yamaha single outboard joystick control makes boating easier and more fun.
This advanced technology, not new and mainly used on multiple outboard installations, makes the experience of docking much smoother and enjoyable.

The Joystick next to the wheel
Thanks to this joystick, the captain can easily change the boat’s direction and speed with ease. This eliminates the need for extensive steering systems and makes docking even in challenging weather simpler.
It is suitable for both experienced and novice boaters making it more accessible to more people.
Pros and Cons
I know that many RIBbers swear by pure manoeuvring with the throttle and wheel and therefore don’t like this system very much.
It comes down to practicing the right skills. Some say it’s even useless with a single outboard installation.
For newcomers however who can afford this expensive “accessory”, it is a pleasant and easier way to dock.
But make no mistake, it needs a lot of practicing as well to build experience in different weather and water conditions.
This single outboard joystick control is not a panacea.

What happened to Revenger RIBs, built for speed?
I picked this up from the Revenger Facebook group by Arwin Boering for which I’m grateful: “Hello Karel. Revenger boat company closed down in 2015 due to lack of sales and spiralling costs etc, etc. Only this year the moulds were bought from Ribeye (who bought them from Revenger but were not able to use them) by a boat company in Greece who plan to continue on with the brand.”
The Revenger RIB hull and deck moulds have been acquired by Theodosios Rigas of Powerboat Centre in Athens, Greece.
The preparation of these boats was carried out in Lorient by SAS (Brittany, France).
