GALA Boats Great Walkaround at TIBS 2023

Canada designs the Gala boats and started in 2015. They use aluminum to make the hull.

After searching a lot (the website only mentions “‘manufactured in Europe”) I finally found this decisive information: “The city of Kharkiv in Ukraine (…) is home to 3 well-known brands in the European RIB sector: Grand, Brig and Gala. The Grand shipyard also has a factory in Odessa, on the shores of the Black Sea.” (source)

This walkaournd video was shot during the Toronto International Boat Show.

The largest Rigid Inflatable Boat (today) is 7.8 meter (P8 model) but they have mostly smaller RIBs as you can see in these well-selected videos.

Speed GALA Atlantis A390Q Aquahelm 30 hp Tohatsu

This video demonstrates the speed test of the RIB GALA Atlantis A390Q-Aquahelm. It was powered with a 30 hp Tohatsu and a 14″ pitch prop.

The result was 53 km/h maximum speed with the use of GPS.

With only a 30 hp engine, the results are still great at 29 knots.

It was performed on the Canadian waters of Georgian Bay.
