NOAH 36 Cabin Test: How the 36-Foot RIB Performs

NOAH, a New Brand on RIBsONLY.com

NOAH Batelli company was registered in 2010. It focuses primarily on recreational Rigid Inflatable Boats, ranging from compact open RIBs to large cabin and cruising RIBs.

Tested off Argentario, Tuscany, the NOAH 36 Cabin came powered by twin 6.2-liter V8 Mercury MerCruiser engines delivering a combined 700 hp.

The 7 ton weighing RIB features a chined hull with a long, fine bow and a 22-degree transom deadrise.

At a 25-knot cruise (3,500 rpm), fuel burn settled at 3.15 liters per nautical mile, while a fast cruise yielded 34 knots at 4,600 rpm. Flat out, the boat hit 42.7 knots at 5,400 rpm, easily topping the builder’s 40-knot estimate.

The hull stayed planted through tight turns, supported by the tubes to check excessive heel, though a slight starboard list at higher speeds required trim tab adjustment.

Forward visibility was somewhat restricted under hard acceleration.
