BSC 72: Italian RIB Designed for Comfort and Days at Sea

The BSC 72 has been part of the Italian boatbuilder’s range for many years.

It remains a popular choice for those who enjoy spending long days on the water with family and friends.

One of its strongest features is the spacious deck layout.

The centrally positioned console leaves plenty of room to move around, while the generous bow area provides a comfortable place to relax in the sun.

At the stern, the seating area can be converted into another sunbed or used for dining.

Practical details, including storage compartments, a swimming platform, and easy access to the water, make life on board more enjoyable.

The BSC 72 is available in two versions, Classic and Elegance, with additional equipment and personalisation options.

BSC 72 RIB Walkthrough: Inside This Spacious Italian RIB

The BSC 72 RIB combines generous deck space with a practical layout designed for comfort and easy movement, according to The Sea Team.

Measuring 7.20 metres long and 3 metres wide, this Rigid Inflatable Boat accommodates a single outboard engine from 150 to 250 hp, with 200 hp recommended.

This one has a Honda BF250 (see specs below).

The spacious aft cockpit features a convertible seating area that transforms into a large sunbed or dining space.

Behind the helm seat, an outdoor galley includes a sink, cutting board, and optional refrigerator.

The helm offers excellent visibility, while deep walkways and strategically placed handrails make moving around the boat feel secure.

Up front, a generous sunbed, multiple storage compartments, and a concealed anchor windlass complete the layout.

A well-designed RIB that makes excellent use of its dimensions.

BSC 78 Performance Data: Speed, Fuel and Acceleration

BSC 78 Performance Test with Suzuki 300 hp

Previously I posted a walkaround of this Italian built RIB. Now, you’ll get all the performance numbers.

In this video Carlo Luongo from The Sea Team tests the BSC 78 Elegance RIB with a 300 horsepower Suzuki engine on Lake Garda, Italy.

At 600 rpm, it travels at 2.4 knots burning 2,2 liter hourly. Increasing to 1.600 rpm reaches 5.8 knots and 7.3 liter. At 2.000 rpm, it hits 6.6 knots, consuming 10,6 liter.

The boat planes easily. At 3.500 rpm, it hits 18 knots at 28,4 liter. It reaches 22.3 knots using 29,2 liter.

Thanks to Suzuki’s Lean Burn system, it tracks 28.8 knots at 40,6 liter.

At 4.500 rpm, it cuts through waves at 32.3 knots, consuming 51,3 liter. Max acceleration reaches 5.900 rpm, hitting 45.4 knots at 95 liter. It goes from 0 to 45 knots in seconds.

The boat features also double sun beds and is towable when deflated.

The BSC 62 RIB in Practice

The BSC 62 is a 6,2 m Rigid Inflatable Boat for coastal day use.

It carries up to twelve people depending on setup. The beam is about 2,9 metres which really big for its length.

It uses a single outboard engine up to 175 horsepower. Fuel capacity is around 125 litres which I find a bit on the low side.

The layout is open with bow seating and a convertible stern area.

It can be used for leisure cruising, short trips, and water sports.
