Fourteen RIBs and Two Jet Skis at the Pasty Run
The 14th Annual Pasty Run and Hunt took place during the weekend of 23rd and 24th May 2026 across Devon and Cornwall waters.
The event has grown significantly over recent years and is now probably the South Coast’s largest RIB gathering, outside Easdale in Scotland.
The event originally began after the Nacho Run, organised through Ribnet, where Hampshire crews enjoyed nachos while Cornish crews preferred pasties instead.
Over the years, RIBs of every size and style gathered together, cruising Cornish waters while searching enthusiastically for the famous elusive pasty.
For the first time, the 2026 event included an overnight stop, travelling east into Devon instead of remaining within Cornwall throughout entirely.
Fourteen RIBs and two jet skis travelled from Plymouth Breakwater Fort to Torquay, stopping overnight through Salcombe and Dartmouth during the social cruise.
The RIBs
The cruise was led by a Highfield Patrol 600, while an impressive Highfield Sport 700 followed behind, bringing up the rear.
Between the Highfields were RIBs of many shapes and sizes, including a 4m Tornado, Atlantic 21, and solid 7.4m Delta prominently.
Other boats included a Ribcraft, Ribtec, several Brigs, an Osprey, a Valiant, Avon Super Sport, and an X-Pro among the fleet.
Two Sea-Doos joined the adventure, although a third jet ski, a Yamaha, unfortunately failed to reach the starting location before departure.

Splendid Context
During the 2026 Pasty Run, crews enjoyed calm seas, light winds, spectacular scenery, and of course the challenge of finding delicious pasties.
When arriving in Salcombe, every vessel received an envelope alongside strict instructions not to open or lose it before the evening gathering.
Crews enjoyed time exploring boating shops, luxury boutiques, gin bars, afternoon teas, crab sandwiches, pasties, and plenty of ice creams afterwards.
The warm sunshine and excellent weather added perfectly to the atmosphere, while pre-booked berthing arrangements ensured a smooth and enjoyable afternoon experience.
The next stop was Dartmouth Yacht Club, where cold pints, more ice cream, and a second envelope awaited every participating crew member.
The same instructions followed again: never open the envelope, never lose it, and always bring it to the evening social gathering.
At Torquay
Torquay provided an excellent location, with berthing available at both MDL and the Council-operated Town Quay for participating Pasty Run crews.
The SW Boat Rally was also visiting Torquay, hosting an evening social gathering at Torbay Yacht Club during the same memorable weekend.
Friendly banter between the mostly hard-boat rally crews and RIB crews created excellent entertainment alongside a superb evening meal for everyone attending.
Visitors to Torquay were recommended affordable fish and chips, steak meals, pies, and pints, although many other menu options remained available.
The Winners Announced
Later that evening, the Pasty Runners gathered together in the beer garden and were finally allowed to open their mysterious envelopes completely.
Inside each envelope was a playing card, which determined the winners of both the Pasty Hunt and the annual Pasty Run competitions.
The Atlantic 21 won the 2026 Pasty Hunt after successfully pulling the special pasty card from their envelope during the evening celebrations.
The Valiant won first place for the highest scoring hand, receiving a themed mug, while Highfield 700 collected second-place honours instead.
The Tornado earned the humorous D prize after failing to follow instructions correctly, winning a pasty magnet for their memorable effort instead.
One Sea-Doo rider also received a pasty pen after completing an impressive fifty-four nautical mile journey aboard their jet ski successfully.
The Pasty Run Road Back Home
Sunday morning began leisurely with coffee at Below Decks before returning to Salcombe for tea, biscuits, and eventually Plymouth via Saltash afterward.
The weekend delivered dolphins, gannets, guillemots, excellent scenery, social banter, countless RIBs, and naturally several enjoyable pasties shared between crews throughout.
The 15th Annual Pasty Run will return during 2027, although the Cornish Exploration arrives first over the weekend of 11th and 12th July.
Despite enjoying Devon pasties during this event, everyone agreed the true home of the authentic pasty remains firmly within beautiful Cornwall itself.
