ZD 12.8 R – This jaw-dropping model was developed over three generations.
The boats‘ hull was designed by Norson Design Works to best meet customers‘ requirements.
It was constructed and produced 100% in Germany using modern Ophardt Maritim robotic systems to ensure the accuracy and symmetry required for safe operation and high speeds.
During the trip Cork-Fastnet-Cork speeds went up to 150 kph or 80 knots …
The previous record was 2 hours 6 minutes and 47 seconds.John Ryan, broke his own existing Cork-Fastnet-Cork speed record in a time of 1 hour, 47 minutes and 7 seconds (Subject to ratification by UIM August 2021). 120 Nm in total (222 km).
The RIB ran in a confused sea state moderate to rough, 3′-4′ short chop.
The ZD 12.8 R have installed Ullman Biscaya Jockey seats and Ullman Echelon Bolster seats.
Enjoy the short onboard video … and checkout the Ullman seats.
So proud to share that Ullman Dynamics is a good Friend of RIBs ONLY.
Please remind me again. How do this effort contribute to our well-being? Is this going to stop global warming?
Hi Bruno
Thank you for your comment. Although the engines are compliant with the emission standards we know it doesn’t add to stop global warming. It will take some time before fossil fuel powered engines will be replaced by another form of eco-friendly “fuel”.
Out of curiosity on that subject, what do you advice your clients for your RBBs?
