Novi-Marine has demoted two professional equipped Gemini WR880 RIBs. I was onboard a WR780 RIB.
I was asked by novi-marine to document the demo and even give the WR880 a go—an unexpected treat that made the already amazing day of the photoshoot even more memorable and exciting!
This demo reflects novi-marine’s ongoing commitment to fleet modernisation.
It honors the legacy of these reliable workhorses built in South Africa.
Below the result of the photoshoot, you find the specifications of both RIBs.
This Alunaut A10 RIB is the very first one. This Rigid Inflatable Boat didn’t only caught my eye but those of many visitors as well. It is not surprising when you look at the photos.
The 10 meter long aluminum body Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), with its open cockpit, is a treat for the eye. The red tubes add to its appeal. The finishing clearly is of a high level.
The seams of welding are the work of specialists. Mark Muru, CEO of Alunaut (Estonia) and member of RIBs ONLY, said that this SAR RIB is the first in its series.
Twin Mercury 350 Verados will be installed. Launch is scheduled for late April, early May 2019.
I’ve posted some messages about the all new Capelli Tempest 38 with renderings and brochure photos. This slideshow is about the very first Tempest 38 Rigid Inflatable Boat in Belgium.
I was invited to join the presentation of this big Capelli RIB at bruggemarinecenter.com (BMC). This is my impression. Hope you like it.
A RIB enthusiast contacted me with the question if I had some pictures of the RIB he bought.
I took a dive in my archives and found that during the Belgian Offshore Challenge 2006 this Osprey Lynx with inboard participated.
The big Rigid Inflatable Boat was delivered by Brugge Marine Center who is a friend of RIBs ONLY.
During that race I used my Nikon D90 with 6 megapixel on a DX chip. It was my third digital camera. Nowadays I use a Nikon Z 9 with 45 megapixel FX (full frame) and my Nikon D810 FX as backup.
On Facebook I run a community dedicated to the Belgian Offshore Challenge races. Pay us a visit and enjoy the ambiance.

This time I dug into my RIB archives to share some photos of RIB races. Some of them were published in magazines, others on the world wide web. Funny to see some removed my signature, spending a lot of time in doing so.
These racers know what they do so these RIB Jump Photos by Medianaut are very real!
The equipment I use is Nikon for more than 35 years now. Why not Canon? My father worked already with Nikkormat and gave me my first Nikon decades ago. From then on, it was Nikon all the way and I started Medianaut (nautical photos and news).
Now my youngest daughter Anne is also engaging into photography. I bought her her first Nikon when I was in the States for a photoshoot of the well-known motorboat brand Regal.
She already proved that she also has the right feeling for photographing fast boats. She shot the photo on the top.
