The presentation of the Capelli Tempest 38 was shot in the big showroom at Brugge Marine Center. It was the very first one in Belgium.

The specs are impressive:

  • Length: 11.97 m
  • Max number of people: 18
  • Max beam: 3.54 m
  • Max engine power: 850 hp

Earlier I’ve published the first promo photos of it’s variant the Capelli Tempest TE 38.

2017 Yellow Osprey Lynx on Request

Osprey Lynx Yellow @ RIBs ONLY – Home of the Rigid Inflatable Boat

During many years I’ve been shooting RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats) during many races. This series of photos I shot during the Belgian Offshore Challenge (BOC). It was true racing in a great spirit that is hard to find today.

The Yellow Osprey Lynx

One day a passionate RIB fanatic asked me for pictures of a certain RIB. It was the yellow Osprey Lynx with inboard engine.

Anyone familiar with the RIB world knows that Osprey RIBs feel at their best in rough seas.

Below you will find the shots I took during that RIB race on the North Sea.

Meanwhile the Yellow RIB was retubed in black.

2012-2017 Press RIB Race Photos

Press Photography – RIB Race Photos

I inherited my passion for photography from my father and he from his father. I still have my grandfather’s bellows camera with glass plates. What a revolution has been made since then.

At the age of 21 I received my first Japanese Nikon reflex camera. I’ve never left the brand to my great satisfaction.

Since then there was no stopping it.

In addition to my mountain and kiting experience and other hobbies, I started to focus on boats. I fell also under the spell of power boating. For many years I was involved in that amazing world of speed on the water and got press photos delivered.

RIBs have been my passion for a long time and the RIB races got my attention more and more.

On this page you see some of my RIB race photos that have appeared in the press.

I hope you can enjoy it!

2017 RIB Race Terneuzen

The RIB Race Terneuzen took place In the “Put van Terneuzen” (Pit of Terneuzen, province Zeeland, The Netherlands). This area is In the main Scheldt channel east of Terneuzen.

There were competitors from Belgium and The Netherlands in Rigid Inflatable Boats and more than the picture above shows but due to the circumstances it was less exciting. No big jumps or spectacular moves like in many RIB races on the sea I’ve witnessed.

The weather was sunny, the sky clear and the water flat. Trimming in that case can make a big difference, the weight shift and reducing wind resistance also.

It was a fun day on the water.

Slideshow Alunaut A10 RIB

This Alunaut A10 RIB is the very first one. This Rigid Inflatable Boat didn’t only caught my eye but those of many visitors as well. It is not surprising when you look at the photos.

The 10 meter long aluminum body Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), with its open cockpit, is a treat for the eye. The red tubes add to its appeal. The finishing clearly is of a high level.

The seams of welding are the work of specialists. Mark Muru, CEO of Alunaut (Estonia) and member of RIBs ONLY, said that this SAR RIB is the first in its series.

Twin Mercury 350 Verados will be installed. Launch is scheduled for late April, early May 2019.
