Explore the Layout of this Airborne 8 RIB
Nordkapp’s Airborne 8 takes a different approach to Rigid Inflatable Boat design.
I was pleasantly surprised by the many well-thought-out details and the interesting overall design.
Everything seems designed for real days on the water, not just the showroom. The shipyard builds 4 RIB models as we speak ranging from 5.4 m tot 8 m. The focus is mainly on GRP motorboats (Glass Reinforced Plastic).
At just under eight metres long and 2.8 metres wide, the Airborne 8 features asymmetrical tubes that taper towards the stern and sit clear of the water. This reduces drag, improves handling and creates more space on board.
The bow seats four and converts into a sunbed, while the aft area accommodates six.
Practical touches include integrated cleats, foldaway cushions, clever storage and wide swim platforms. Mercury outboards from 200 to 350 hp provide the power.
I my opinion, this walkaround was very detailed and very interesting.
