Blastoff Racing and Team A-21 Racing Poole Bay

“Last weekend saw the Poole Bay 100 race return and what a great weekend it was.

I worked alongside Blastoff Racing and Team A-21 Racing to collect some content over the weekend.

This 15 minute short includes interviews from the Blastoff team, onboard footage of both powerboats as well as a collection of content from the event.

You really don’t understand what these guys go through during a race until you see some of the onboard footage, huge respect to everyone involved

The Incredible Fabio Buzzi 42 Sport RIB

For the build of this 13 meter Fabio Buzzi 42 kevlar was also used. One can recognise these RIBs from far due to its typical shape of the high rising bow.

Special connection of the tubes to the hull

This technique stores potential energy when it hits a wave and then turns this into kinetic energy when it impacts the water, retrieving 90% of stored energy that would have otherwise been lost.

The Fabio Buzzi 42 Sport RIB can reach incredible speeds on choppy water because of the wave-bouncing technique.
