About Club del Gommone

The Itialian Club del Gommone (Facebook and website) was officially founded in January 1970.

However, as early as 1968, a group of passionate enthusiasts had already begun venturing on long voyages.

They traveled around Elba and across our lakes aboard the legendary Zodiac Mark 2s.

In June 1969, the non-competitive Pavia-to-Venice Raid took place.

During this event, the foundations were laid for what would become the club. Just months later, this led to the formal creation of the club.

The adventures organized by the club often include trips that connect France to the Shetland Islands.

These trips showcase the incredible beauty of the route.

In January 1970, those same pioneers came together.

Mauro Seguso, Angelo Viscardi, Giuseppe Pennati, Mario Paciotti, Renato Fasciolo, Giuseppe Boccuti, and Desiderio Prinetti officially established the club.

It was the first club of its kind in Italy.

Since 1971, the club has been affiliated with the Italian Powerboat Federation.

It has adopted a formal statute and set of regulations.

These define both the terms of participation and the objectives to be pursued.

These goals remain faithful to the vision their founders originally set forth.

On February 10, 2006, the club was officially registered with CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee) as an Amateur Sports Association under the name: Club del Gommone – Amateur Sports Association
