The powerful COX 300
A new Cox 300 horsepower diesel outboard completed its first sea trial.
It is described as the most powerful production diesel outboard ever built.
The 4.4-litre V8 engine uses twin turbos and common-rail injection. It delivers 300 horsepower and 650 Newton metres of torque.
Designed and built in Britain, it targets efficiency and high performance.
Testing showed smooth operation, especially at cruising speed.
It was compared with a 350 horsepower petrol V8 with similar refinement.
The diesel is slightly noisier at idle but improves at speed. Target weight is 350 kilograms with aluminium construction.
Expected top speed reaches up to 40 knots with final propeller tuning.

I gave COX some visibility here.
