RIB Racing in Flanders
The Flanders Offshore Racing Team is back in 2022 with a new young team full of passion and drive: co-pilot Julie Labeeuw and pilot Quentin Deraedt. Teamleader is the well-known RIB racer guru Kris Deraedt.

The Team Presented
Kris participated in a countless number of races worldwide. One of the highlights of his career was his participation in the P1 races.
Therefore his race track record is very impressive and he’s passing on his skills and knowledge to his son, Quentin and the new copilot Julie.
He’s also the CEO of Brugge Marine Center (BMC), in Belgium next to the canal that leads to the sea. A superb location.
While his father was one of P1’s most exciting talents, Kris Deraedt makes his comeback with the Team starting in 2021.
Quentin was destined for a career in boating sport and turned his first laps at the boat at the tender age of five.
From the age of 16 he mastered motor boating as if he had done nothing else. He was destined for a career in boating sports. In 2021 he had the credits of youngest driver in Europe. He’s employed at BMC since 2020.
Julie is one of the first women daring to be a copilot and the only female copilot in 2022 in Belgium.
As a little girl she always went on different boat trips and together with her mom, Ingrid Hermans, they sailed many destinations. So the RIB is not unknown to her.
Last year the Flanders Offshore Racing Team was looking for a new spirit. Eager as she was, she also would like to be a role model for women in the racing world because unfortunately I am the only female copilot this year. So why not change that? Speaking of a formidable spirit!
“Fun and pleasure remain important, good coordination with each other and not taking risks” she shares. “And I couldn’t wish for another pilot or Quentin, an emerging talent!” Hear hear!
About the hardware. In 2021 the beast was the superb Osprey Lynx 26 RIB. In 2022 they race with their new Mercury Optimax 200xs ROS powered Technohull Seadrug 688.

A race team needs sponsors. Flanders Offshore Racing Team is supported by Meet Media, Mobitel, BMC, Riba, DM swimming pools, car dealership Sneppe, PM trans and “all-round jobs” Heidi.
Proud to share that Brugge Marine Center (BMC) is a good Friend of RIBs ONLY.
