Tackle 5 BFT Storm Waves with OLM Training

5 BFT Stands for 17 to 21 Knots Winds

Olivier Consorti, leads the OLM Perfectionnement Mer Formée.

He personally guides participants through intensive sessions. These are designed to elevate their skills to an exceptional level.

No other program in France offers such an immersive, practice-driven approach. This 5 BFT video is just one of them.

I appreciate Olivier’s trainings a lot, and that’s why I’ve posted many more videos here on RIBsONLY.com: Training videos in agitated and rough seas.

Refreshing Navigation by OLM for Eric at Les Glénan

Navigation Training by OLM

Eric recently acquired a Merry Fisher. He proactively chose to take a training.

He did this to revisit and strengthen the fundamental techniques of navigation.

This thoughtful approach reflects his commitment to safety, confidence, and competence at sea.

A follow-up training session has already been scheduled for a later date.

This will happen once Eric has accumulated more hands-on experience with his boat.

At that point, he will be ready to take the next step in his development.

He will participate in the more advanced Stage 2 course. This course will take place in the challenging waters of the Raz de Sein, France.

Kudos to Eric for his forward-thinking mindset, willingness to question himself, and dedication to continuous improvement on his maritime journey!

I am a big fan of the trainings provided by Olivier Consorti hence my many videos here on RIBsONLY.com: I Just Can’t Get Enough.

Force 5 Challenge: Rémy Crosses the Raz de Sein Solo

Force 5 Wind Can Be Tough

Rémy is navigating the Raz de Sein alone in Force 5 winds and genuine offshore conditions.

Every decision matters in this demanding passage.

This training exercise takes place in one of Brittany’s most challenging boating areas.

The Raz de Sein in France, is famous for strong currents, confused seas, and rapidly changing weather.

Throughout the crossing in Force 5, Rémy continuously assesses the sea state and adjusts his course.

He manages speed, anticipates swell patterns, and maintains safe boat handling.

Most importantly, he makes every decision independently while keeping crew safety as the highest priority.

I truly value Olivier’s training, which is why you’ll find an extended collection of videos on RIBsONLY.com, focused on mastering navigation in agitated and rough seas.

How Sea Shepherd Volunteers Train for RIB Missions

Inside Sea Shepherd RIB Training in the Raz de Sein

Rémy from Neuville-sur-Saône (France) has joined the Sea Shepherd association with the goal of serving aboard the NGO vessel John Paul DeJoria in French Guiana. His target role is bosun on a rigid inflatable boat (RIB), supporting Sea Shepherd’s marine conservation missions.

To strengthen his RIB boat handling and offshore skills, Rémy trained in the challenging waters of the Raz de Sein, a well-known testing ground for professional crews.

He has already completed the first training level, with the next certification in preparation. This hands-on Sea Shepherd RIB training improves operational readiness for future missions at sea.
