The Raptor Fusion Marine AC40 Chase RIB

A sleek, state-of-the-art 11meter chase RIB for the Americas Cup 40 was unveiled in Auckland this week.

It was constructed by Auckland based Fusion Marine Boat Builders in Silverdale, New Zealand.

This video showcases the twin stepped hull design and propelled by twin Yamaha 300 hp outboards. This Rigid Inflatable Boat reaches speeds up to 55.2 knots or 102 km/hr.

Tailored to meet the specific demands of the AC40 fleet for upcoming youth and women’s regattas, this RIB meets the rigorous standards which every chase boat must meet.

Build of Chaterina D Rescue RIB

The Chaterina D Rescue RIB is a Sight to See

Over the upcoming years, the KNRM will retire its Atlantic 75 rescue boats after years of dedicated service, often under demanding conditions.

This inaugural rescue Rigid Inflatable Boat will commence operations this year (2024) under the auspices of KNRM Vlieland.

Following suit, each subsequent step will witness the systematic replacement of all Atlantic 75-class rescue boats with the advanced Chaterina D model.

This Rescue RIB has an aluminium hull and has a wider deck space than the Atlantic 75.

Sharrow Propeller True Results Comparison

Costly Sharrow Propeller

It is not the first time I bring this new type of propeller to attention.

There are beautiful marketing videos, but this one comes from a real user with twin Yamahas 300.

Granted, they are not installed on a RIB, but it’s all about a test in real conditions now.

And that was my intention to publish this blog post: the true results.

In the video, the performance of the same boat is compared between the standard and the Sharrow.

At the end, there is a nice summary and conclusion.
