The Jersey Lifeboat Association have the fastest Rescue RIB in the British Isles by Berthon RIBs: the GEMINI WR880 (video by novi marine).
This is a video of the second sea trial for the custom-built GEMINI RIB where they test out the onboard electronics.
According to Berthon this Cox Powertrain CXO300 has many advantages.
It offers an impressive 60% more torque, 3 times longer life span and 25% better fuel economy, than an equivalent petrol 4 stroke outboard.
This particular diesel outboard engine is sustainable, innovative, and eco-friendly. The design is aimed at maximizing speed.
First sea trial for the custom-built rescue RIB by Berthon for the Jersey Lifeboat Association, Juli 2021. Achieving a speed of 50+ knots.
